This is the second in a series of three books for pastors by Richard S. Armstrong, Professor of Mission and Evangelism at Princeton Seminary. The first, The Pastor As Evangelist, discusses the pastor's ministry of evangelism. The third, in preparation, will address the pastor-evangelist in relation to ministerial functions such as administration, pastoral care, and education. This volume looks at the pastor's evangelistic role as liturgist and preacher.

Sunday worship, sacramental obser. vances., weddings, and funerals, a pastor may be more aware of and appropriately responsive to those present who are without the gospel or church affiliation. It is not the author's intent to alter the liturgical convictions of any. He is convinced, however, that adherents of any tradition may become, in style and content, more evangelistically helpful and encouraging to church visitors and strangers to the faith.
